The book is great, thank you. I’ve been playing the pieces all afternoon. Can’t wait to start teaching these. I’ve not used backing tracks before for teaching (only for personal playing). It’s such a great idea. I’m also going to use the pieces as sight reading for my higher grade students – not only good practice but great fun too.
With pieces such as Boogie in the Barnyard and Dance of the Electric Pineapples, what’s not to love?

Just got this book and couldn’t stop playing the delightful pieces. I am looking forward to choosing the student who will get this. Great for rhythm studies and for that shy student to develop some confidence by playing fun pieces. I have several of Olly’s pieces and they always charm.

Wonderful selection of pieces sure to be a hit with students and teachers alike.

My son absolutely loves this book of pieces, and listens to the MP3 tracks on his iPod for enjoyment as they are such fun pieces of music. Every teacher he has taken this book to has absolutely loved it, and really enjoyed helping our boy get the hang of them. Boogie in the Barnyard is an absolute favourite, but they’re all good, and it’s a wonderful mix of types of music.

  6. Carey Annesley (verified owner)

Very good arrangements which are brilliant for established beginners. Great to find some easier pieces which are interesting and also feature more contemporary rhythms.

  7. Jim T. (verified owner)

As the series progresses, pentatonic, and jazz scales are used in the melodies. Blues and boogie bass lines and early concepts of syncopation are picked up in the rhythms.

There are not the backing tracks for both (backing audio without any part of piano) of the piano duet pieces.
