Description
Put some pizzazz into your piano with Zoot Suit, an up-tempo swing solo in A minor, ideal for beginners at the Grade 1 standard (ABRSM).
This piece swings along at a snazzy 130 bpm, featuring staccato crotchets in the melody, accompanied by a cool descending bass line.
Zoot Suit features a few swung quaver moments, so if swing rhythms are a bit new to you or your student, don't panic! Try learning the piece without the swing rhythms to start with. Then once the notes are secure, try playing the piece with the backing track (there's a slow practice backing to get you going). Once you're up to tempo, I'm willing to bet that those swung quavers will start to materialise without you even thinking about it!
