Description
Slipstream is a romantic and flowing pop ballad in F major featuring semiquaver movement between both hands. This piece is written in the classical style, but has a modern twist and is ideal for the more advanced pianist at the Grade 5+ standard (ABRSM).
In case you were wondering, the rippling arpeggio-effect accompaniment is inspired by Bach's beautiful Ave Maria. You may find it helpful to treat the repeated notes of each arpeggio as 'echoes', so they are played a little softer in each bar. This adds depth and texture to the accompaniment.
Slipstream is also a useful study of semiquaver movement with sustain pedal. There are also many opportunities to experiment with rubato and dynamics throughout.
The MP3 backing tracks are also great fun to play along with and are available with the sheet music.
