Introducing The Three Wishes, a magical bossa nova duet for 4 hands in the key of A major. This piece will suit intermediate primo players at about the Grade 3-4 level (ABRSM) and is split into three sections - one section for each wish!
The primo part is played one octave higher than written and the left hand mostly plays unison sixths or thirds below the right hand melody line. The secondo accompaniment features the classic bossa nova bass line and right hand syncopation.
There are plenty of opportunities to explore and enjoy the articulations and dynamics throughout this duet. In particular, the third section (the third wish!) involves an exciting crescendo using the sustain pedal to build up the chord layers in each bar.
The Three Wishes piano sheet music comes with three play-along backing tracks:
- for the primo player (a tempo)
- a slow tempo practice backing track for the primo player, and,
- a backing track for both players to play along with.
