Description
Here is the first piano piece written for OllysPianoSheets.com, a gentle piano waltz with an easy step and a lyrical melody.
Starting Out is in the key of G major and will suit beginner pianists at about the Grade 1 (ABRSM) standard.
In the middle section, the melody modulates to the relative minor (perhaps the journey became a bit bumpy?!) but then moves smoothly back to the original melody in the major key.
Once you have got the hang of playing through this piece, try experimenting with the dynamics.
The tempo for this piece is a steady 120 bpm. Some well-placed ritardando (slowing down temporarily) markings could also work well towards the end of phrases if you are feeling adventurous!
