Description
This is a jazzy swing arrangement of the well-known Christmas favourite, complete with fun play-along backing tracks and lyrics.
We Wish You A Merry Christmas will suit beginner pianists at about the Grade 1 level and features swung eighth-note quavers. However the arrangement will also work well with 'straight' quavers.
The melody starts off in the right hand with a little help from the left hand, and then moves fully to the left hand for the second verse ("Oh bring us some fig-gy pud-ding..."). Keep an eye out for the marked dynamics and articulations such as the staccato quarter notes at the end of each phrase in verse 1.
The piece ends with a rallentando and a pause, which can be held for as long as you like... before finishing it all off with a cheeky allegro last phrase, "And a hap-py New Year!"
