Time Flies when you're having fun on the piano!
Tempus Fugit (Latin for 'time flies') is a lively piano duet for advanced players at the Grade 5+ (ABRSM) standard.
This piano sheet music features an alternating 6/8 time signature along the lines of West Side Story's 'America'. Try saying aloud, "123-123-12-12-12" and you'll get the idea. Placing a slight accent on the beginning of each group of quavers (the "1"s above) will help 'Tempus Fugit' to fly along nicely :).
Keep your eyes and ears ready for the occasional surprise as the melody jumps down to the the secondo player (and back up again!).
Tempus Fugit can be played at quite a fast tempo, although as always when learning a new piece, start at a slower speed and work up to the marked tempo as you gain confidence.
Also available is a play-along backing and slow tempo backing track mp3 of the secondo part, so primo players can practice this piece on their own.
