The Italian Affair is a romantic and haunting piano duet in C minor for primo players at about the Grade 3 (ABRSM) standard.
This piece is marked 'Dolce, con Affettuoso', which is Italian for 'in a singing style, with feeling', so there are plenty of opportunities for expressive dynamics - and please feel free to add any of your own.
The primo part (in treble clef) is played an octave above written, so you'll be playing quite a way up the keyboard! However, this high and haunting melody is part of the atmospheric feel of this piece.
If you need someone to play the secondo lower part, try playing along with the MP3 backing track. You can also download the slow tempo practice backing, which is at a much slower tempo to help you get started.
