This piano sheet music is dedicated to all those who would rather hibernate through the winter and wake up when it's warmer - myself included!
Written in the key of G major, the theme for The Sleepy Bear is simple and slightly hypnotic. The tempo is at 90 bpm and can be played fairly freely for a reflective feel to the piece.
There are plenty of dynamics to follow but please feel free to add your own - whatever feels right for your performance. Â The sustain pedal can be useful to smooth each bar, as marked, but it is not essential.
The Sleepy Bear will suit established beginner pianists who are at about the Grade 2 (ABRSM) standard.

This is a gorgeous little ballad that I have enjoyed playing as much as teaching. It’s really good for working a legato melody line with lower holding harmony notes, and whilst most students have found it challenging they have nevertheless thoroughly enjoyed it.
