Description
Here is a lighthearted swing arrangement of O Come, All Ye Faithful which will be a hit at any Christmas concert! This duet is in G major and is perfect for established beginner primo players at about the Grade 2 standard (ABRSM).
This arrangement presents two verses from the popular carol played in a 'big-band' swing style. Lyrics are also provided, so as well as listening, your audience can also enjoy a good sing-along (feel free to make some temporary copies for that purpose).
The secondo part features a walking bass, which is best played legato and not too heavily. Try to keep staccato articulations nice and short in both parts to enhance the swing rhythms.

I wanted a jazz Christmas duet which I could play with my piano teacher and this was the piece that came up. A well-known Christmas Carol but this jazz version takes it to a whole new level. I was able to practice myself at home using the secondo backing track before being let loose on my piano teachers concert grand piano. A well arranged piece, I will definitely be buying more music.
