This book will surely be a student pleaser – I especially like Sugar & Spice. Great melody line. Full and rich secondo part. Can’t wait to have students fall in love with this piece.

It was hard to choose a favourite from this book as all the pieces are great. It’s a nice change to have a book of early pieces in a variety of keys and styles. I think the one I like best is Cupcake Calypso which is in D major and will be a great piece for a student who has just learnt this scale.

Too early to review really as my daughter is only working on one of the songs at the moment. However, she is very enthusiastic about it (more than about the pieces in her Grade 1 book) and she selected Cupcake Calypso because of the name! She played it quite well fairly quickly which gave her confidence (again because it was easier to attempt than some Grade 1 pieces).

It is difficult to source beginner music that is interesting. It is so difficult to source. Well it is to be found both in this book and the Jukebox series, plus individual downloads. Highly recommend

This is the start of series that is a must have for a person studying classical piano, and is looking to apply those technical skills to contemporary music such as jazz and blues. Blues, swing and latin rhythms are used to create entertaining sounds at an elementary level.
